About Us
Parramatta Community Uniting Church (PCUC) is a new venture brings together 5 congregations (Leigh Memorial Parramatta, Leigh Fijian Parramatta, Westmead, Northmead and Centenary North Parramatta), along with the services and ministries of Parramatta Mission as a PBI.
We have created this role to ensure our future operating model is sustainable. The Role
The key purpose of the Business Manager is to provide business, finance, property, governance direction and operational management along with strategic advice.
A central part of the initial stage of this role will be to discern and agree a sustainable business operating model including development and implementation of an organisational structure for the services and ministries of Parramatta Mission as a PBI.
This role will work collaboratively with the Lead Minister to ensure that all activities are conducted within the values of the PCUC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise and coordinate operations in ways that ensure maximum productivity.
- Supervise the work of employees and provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain relationships with partners/vendors/suppliers.
- Gather, analyse and interpret external and internal data and write reports.
- Assess overall performance against objectives.
- Represent PCUC in events, conferences, etc. where appropriate.
- Ensure adherence to legal rules and guidelines.
- Exercising optimal management of all PCUC activities (including those of the PBI Parramatta Mission
What you will need:
- Relevant Tertiary qualification in business or finance with a minimum of three years business management experience
- Demonstrated capability in an Executive/ Senior leadership role, with highly developed and demonstrated administrative, strategic, solution-focused, and change management capabilities.
- Capacity to develop constructive relationships and lead a diverse team prayerfully and collaboratively.
- Exceptional communication skills and a sound knowledge of communication technology.
- An understanding of governance and management, compliance, legal and risk requirements, particularly in a church-based and/or not-for-profit organisation.

- A high level of energy and drive and the ability to manage pressure and ambiguity in complex multi-faceted settings.
- Demonstrated ability to collaboratively lead and deliver operational sustainability.
- A willingness to work in a Uniting Church organization with a curiosity and openness to explore faith and spirituality.
