Pulse is calling all Ministers, Pastors, Lay Leaders, Youth Workers, and people who are passionate about ministry alongside families and young people. Yes, we're casting the net wide! Yes, we mean business! What are we inviting you to?

Starting Monday, May 20th and going until Friday, May 24th is an online summit you won't want to miss. Rethink Children and Youth Ministry is a FREE, on-demand (this means watch whenever you can), online conference that wants to elevate your ministry with young people. There is content loaded daily, that is only available for that day, so you'll want to log on and check it out each day of that week. In addition, it is loaded with free downloadable and practical resources for your ministry with young people! Pulse will be engaging with all of the content so if you do miss anything, reach out to us, but we strongly encourage you to spend a bit of time exploring each days content as it is released.

This is an invitation to learn from renowned experts and practitioners in the fields of spiritual formation, intergenerational ministry, and ministry to children, youth and families. Gain valuable perspectives, practical tips, and innovative approaches while debunking common myths about young people to make spiritual education engaging and impactful.

It's run by the team from Convergence, who "are committed to a just and generous Christian faith that is moving from "organised religion" to "organising religion." [They] believe God’s family includes ALL people; God’s people are responsible for caring for the environment, the poor, the sick, and the vulnerable; that education, healthcare, and civil liberties are vital to abundant life; and that truth is found more often in grappling with the questions than in absolute answers."

This promises to be a refreshing take on children's and youth ministry that is genuinely inclusive, grounded in living faith in a modern world, and full of practical insights and resources to help your church.

Still not convinced? Here's some words from Rev. Cameron Trimble - CEO of Convergence.

“The most consistent lament we hear from Congregations is the yearning for families with young children to return to the church. As congregational consultants, they call asking, ‘Can you help us get families with young kids to come back?'” said Trimble. “We can, we say, but only if you’re willing to shift your understanding of what it means to belong to a church in 2024.”

He went on to further state, “This summit is designed to lean into this issue — to explore with our best experts, including youth themselves, the future of children and youth ministry in congregational life,” Trimble said. “The conversations are challenging and dynamic. We can promise you walk away with an entirely new framework for imagining how the church might be in relationship with younger generations for the sake of a more just and generous world.”

So what are you waiting for? It's free to sign up! Jump on and join the summit today! And when you do, send a quick e-mail to contact-pulse@nswact.uca.org.au - we'd love to create a community of learning with all those from our Synod who get involved.

You'll walk away with an entirely new framework for imagining how the church might be in relationship with younger generations for the sake of a more just and generous world.
