Ever wondered how your unique gifts could be a blessing to others in mission and ministry? In our new series we feature the many faces across our Church who are serving where they are, with what God has given them. We hope that it will be a blessing and an inspiration.

Meet Alisi Siakimotu

Current Ministry:
  • Youth & Young Adults Ministry, Carlton Ramsgate Uniting Church
  • GLEE Youth Mentor & Leader
  • IGNITE Youth & Young Adults Leader (working collaboratively with Arthur and Hurstville City with Suzanna & Bessie)
  • Church Council Chairperson
  • Church Elder
  • Worship Leader
What you love about being involved in this ministry?

I have a passion and love for our young people who are living in a very different world, with many challenges and temptations. I love being a part of their lives through Church and beyond. I love sharing what I can, that may help them live a life pleasing to God through GLEE & IGNITE. They make me feel much younger too! I love meeting up with GLEE Youth every Friday Night for Devotion, Games, Music and Food! IGNITE Band Practice on Monday nights is another opportunity to encourage growth through music. Our young people have so much to offer and so much talent, and with the awesome Teams I am part of it we are able to intentionally provide space for them.

What do you find most challenging?

Challenging are the roadblocks the leadership team face to further our Youth and Young Adults Ministry. We have up to 100 young people meeting on a monthly basis and we’re in need of support to keep their fire for Christ burning.

They are our present and future, if we do not intentionally and wholeheartedly welcome, accept and nurture them - someone or something else in the world will.

What you are looking forward to in your ministry/church in the year ahead?

I am looking forward to the future of our IGNITE Worship Services (3rd Sunday of every month) a service established for our youth and young adults. Its an open and welcoming service to anyone who wants to worship in a casual environment, uplifting praise with LIVE Music from our young people, Technology based interaction, engaging guest speakers, Music artists and fellowship afterwards with Jam Session and Refreshments.
