Mark McCrindle is an internationally recognised demographer, futurist, social researcher and author who will be the keynote speaker at Synod this year about Generation Alpha and the future of the Church.

Generation Alpha are the subject of Mark’s latest book “Generation Alpha: Understanding Our Children and Helping Them Thrive” a young adult cohort born after 2010. Understanding Generation Alpha will be crucial for the future of the Church and Mark's keynote will be an invaluable resource to navigate the research on this generational change and how it will impact the Church.

Who are Generation Alpha?

Generation Alpha are the most globally connected generation of children ever. For parents, teachers and leaders looking for guidance on how to raise their children, worried if their kids are spending too much time on screens, concerned how global trends are impacting them and wondering how to prepare them for a world where they will live longer and work later.

  • How do we understand and empower this generation?
  • What is the significance of technology for this generation?
  • How has the pandemic shaped how they view the world?
  • What does their future look like and how can Christianity and the church speak into this space effectively?

We look forward to seeing you at Synod 2023 to find out more. If you are a Church member, speak to your minister or Presbytery representative about coming to Synod.
